In our ongoing effort to preserve history, the Society continues to seek and request donations of documents, receipts, ledgers, photographs, artifacts, and other items which have been created or used in Islip Hamlet or are otherwise relevant to the history or life of the community.

Our criteria for donations are:

The owner must have clear title to the item and the "Deed of Gift" form must be filled out, transferring title to the Society.

Donations must be free of donor-imposed restrictions.

Some donated items may not be suitable for the collection, as determined by our Curator/Collections Manager and Board.  Please contact the Curator/Collections Manager before mailing your donation.  Donations shipped to the Society without our prior consent or without a Deed of Gift form, will be considered abandoned property.  Please protect your heirlooms by contacting us first!

If you have questions, please visit our Contact page and let us know!

Please note that the Society does not provide appraisals, so please contact your accountant for advice relating to donation values and any potential tax-deductibility.

Thank you very much for your support of the Historical Society of Islip Hamlet.
